Own Your Moment

I think we’ve all had the experience of  someone walking onto a stage or turning on a camera and they instantly capture our attention; they own their moment with us and then somehow magically change our lives forever. I love moments like this. I live for moments like this. Honestly, I own moments like this.

There’s a theory in businessing where what you’re meant to teach is the thing that people have been asking you for in your life. Ever since I can remember, people have been asking me for this; I get up on stage, I do my thing, and when I get off stage people literally ask me to teach them how I do “that.” 

Hold the audience under your spell.

And for the longest time I didn’t know how I did it. I just did it. I got on stage and held the audience under my spell for however long I had them for and when I was done they were still trying to find their breath and figure out what happened. And those who could breathe and speak would chase me down to see if even my just standing next to me they could get some of “that.”

It took me a while, about 20 years to figure it out, to reverse engineer how I do “That” and now you can absolutely get some of it. Because maybe you want to be a powerful performer and presenter. Maybe people are begging to hear your message. Maybe you’re great on stage but you’re not sure how to translate what you do in video. Maybe you have great ideas and content but you’re not sure how to connect with an audience. Maybe you’re still shaking in the bathroom trying not to vomit and all of this Owning the Stage talk makes you suddenly feel like you’re going to shit yourself too. Yeah. All of that.
