It was the summer of 2001 I'd just wandered back to Portland from Phoenix and my best friend and band mate wandered back to Portland from LA. He wrote this song inspired by my recent heartbreak. Somehow, serendipitously, we bumped into a cooky solo bassist at a open mic within days of getting into town. I don't even remember how we found this drummer. But for a brief moment, perhaps a month or two we were a strange collection of artists that became a band.

This song was potentially the one where we made the most sense together. Where we all just got it. There are certainly better and tighter recordings in the world. There are better and tighter recordings of this band. This was a scratch mix that we thought we were holding onto for a few days until we went to really mix the tune. We didn't know that the recording studio would break apart and the engineer would leave town within weeks of our tracking session. These things happen and these things happened to this band more than a few times.

An audio Poloriod nonetheless.
(I am not the lead vocal on this song, btw.)
